Product Details
+From the late 1970s Rolex began using more robust sapphire crystals on their watches. Known as ‘transitional’ models, early examples were fitted with matte dials that were similar to the dials in the plastic glass watches that had preceded them, but many got replaced at service.
This fantastic example of the 16800 Submariner Date still has its original matte dial with super nice creamy patina on the hour plots that adds to the vintage vibes of this now very collectible neo vintage Rolex.
The bezel inlay has faded to a light blue, actually ghost, colour and the pearl has taken on a yellow hue. The case is strong with thick lugs.
The solid link Oyster bracelet reference 93150 is in very good condition and has a clasp stamped ‘G’ and is fitted with the reference 593 endlinks. The watch comes complete with both inner and outer boxes and punched papers that state a sale date of 1982. The movement has been fully checked and regulated by our watchmaker.
Neo-vintage Rolex is a hot proposition in the current market. Come and see us at our lounge or let’s jump on a call.
