Designed to simply be one of the most accurate watches of its day, the Longines Nonius is a peculiar instrument. Throughout the 1960's the Swiss watch establishment had run competitions to see who could make the most accurate watches, this watch was designed to enter, and to win shortly before the competition was cancelled. The watch never had the opportunity to prove itself on the world stage and was shortly thereafter discontinued by Longines, this unfortunate series of events has lead to the watch becoming very rare and highly sought after among collectors.
